《鋼鐵人3》由小勞勃道尼、葛妮絲派特洛、唐奇鐸、蓋皮爾斯與班金斯利主演，並由西恩布萊克執導，根據漫威漫畫中最著名的超級英雄之一鋼鐵人的故事改編。鋼鐵人第一次出現在漫威漫畫中是1963年出版的《懸疑傳說》第39期(Tales of Suspense #39)，隨後他從1968年5月的《無敵鋼鐵人》第1期(The Invincible Iron Man #1)起，擁有了自己的獨立漫畫系列。

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
